Step into an impactful role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time, contract opportunity focuses on providing excellent instruction and individualized support within a collaborative school environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach three inclusion classes, collaborating with general education teachers to foster inclusive learning environments.
  • Lead two resource classes, offering targeted academic and behavioral support for students with diverse needs.
  • Manage a caseload of roughly 15 students, ensuring individualized attention and progress monitoring.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including documentation, progress tracking, and facilitating IEP meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with students, families, and team members to ensure ongoing support and compliance.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated Special Education Case Manager, who will assist in ensuring all compliance requirements are met.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper special education endorsements required.
  • Experience in high school special education settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
