Special Education Teacher | Cicero, Illinois

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in a K-4 setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized instruction and support to K-4 students with varying disabilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Track student progress, collect data, and maintain accurate records
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
• Foster a positive, encouraging classroom climate that supports growth and self-confidence
