Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Teacher endorsement

  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Foster a nurturing and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support each student’s needs
  • Assess and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team planning
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
