Job Description
A full-time opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to support elementary students (K-4th grade). This contract role begins as soon as possible and will continue through the remainder of the school year. You will play an integral part in fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment and advocating for each student’s success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state requirements apply)
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and individualized instructional strategies
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction to support learning objectives in both resource and inclusive settings
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique abilities and requirements
- Assess student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Maintain up-to-date records and communicate student needs and progress with parents and staff
- Foster a positive, safe, and interactive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to maximize student access and success
