Make a real difference in elementary students’ lives as a part-time Special Education Teacher in a vibrant, supportive school community. This contract opportunity lets you utilize your skills and expertise in special education, working with an ABS caseload in an inclusive environment. Your workday will be balanced at approximately 18 hours per week, Monday through Friday, allowing for meaningful student interaction while maintaining flexibility for work-life balance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Experience with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of implementing IEPs and providing individualized instruction
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Professional and adaptable approach to meeting diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional and behavioral support to elementary students with ABS (Academic Behavior Support) needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in line with district and state requirements
  • Monitor and document student progress to adapt teaching strategies as necessary
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists
  • Maintain open lines of communication with families, ensuring they are engaged partners in their child’s learning
  • Uphold compliance with district, state, and federal regulations related to special education
