Make a meaningful impact serving students with significant needs in a highly supportive and specialized environment. Contract openings are available for licensed Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Work alongside committed educational professionals, providing crucial services to elementary through high school students with complex behavioral and academic needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
  • Experience working in a Setting 4 program, providing instruction for students with the most severe disabilities and challenging behaviors, is highly valued
  • Background supporting students across a wide age and ability range (Elementary through High School)
  • Strong skills in behavior management, differentiated instruction, and teamwork with support staff and specialists
  • Ability to maintain individualized student records and work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Resume and current MN license required for consideration

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality instruction and support tailored to students with the most significant behavioral and academic needs
  • Develop, write, and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and district administrators
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes academic and behavioral growth
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing district training
  • Communicate effectively with families and staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student

This assignment runs from late August 2026 to early June 2027, full time Monday through Friday, supporting students at Rivertrail Learning Center. You’ll play a critical role in an engaging and rewarding Setting 4 program.
