Special Education Teacher | Burnsville, Minnesota

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license
• Proven experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Background in behavioral intervention and support strategies
• Strong collaboration skills to work alongside teachers, staff, and families
• Familiarity with a variety of disabilities including emotional, behavioral, and learning differences
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead, design, and adapt lessons for students with diverse learning needs
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop intervention plans
• Monitor student progress and regularly update IEPs in accordance with legal requirements
• Partner with staff and families to encourage consistent behavioral supports across settings
• Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and academic growth
• Maintain accurate documentation of student goals, interventions, and progress
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices
