Special Education Teacher in Andover, MN

You’ll be working approximately 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE), Monday through Friday, for the duration of the 2026-2027 school year, surrounded by a collaborative team in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students, particularly with ABS caseloads, is highly valued
• Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct special education instruction to elementary students with ABS needs
• Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with district and state guidelines
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success
• Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school activities as required
