Special Education Teacher | New Market, Maryland

Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a school community committed to growth and inclusion. Two contract positions are available for the upcoming academic year, serving middle school and elementary students within Frederick County. You'll spend the school year guiding learners through specialized programs, working onsite in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your placements will include Oakdale Middle School, where you'll work with a group of 15 students in the Learning for Life Program from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, and a second elementary location with a self-contained classroom (caseload of 10 students, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm). Both positions are full-time, and you'll be welcomed as a valued member of the school’s educational team.

Qualifications:

• Holds valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate to the assigned grade levels
• Previous classroom experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Strong skills in behavior management, differentiated instruction, and implementing IEPs
• Engaging communication style and collaborative approach with colleagues and families
• Creative mindset to adapt and individualize instruction
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s unique abilities
• Deliver daily instruction, adapting curriculum and resources to meet diverse needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and family members
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and report on goals and benchmarks
• Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development
