Special Education Teacher | New Market, Maryland

Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position serving two sites in Frederick County. This is an onsite opportunity that runs from mid-August through early June, perfect for certified professionals passionate about supporting learners with diverse needs.

Your expertise will support one of two caseloads:

• Oakdale Middle School: Teach 15 students in a Learning for Life Program, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
• An additional elementary site (TBD): Support a self-contained classroom of 10 students, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

What we’re looking for:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher in the appropriate age group (elementary or middle school)
• Previous experience working with self-contained classrooms or Life Skills/Learning for Life programs is highly valued
• Strong communication skills and an adaptable, compassionate approach to instruction
• Commitment to working onsite in a full-time capacity throughout the school year
• A collaborative mindset to work effectively with school staff, support professionals, and families

In this role, you will:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support based on student IEPs
• Create an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment for all students
• Collaborate proactively with paraprofessionals and other team members
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
