Special Education Teacher | Clarksburg, Maryland

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, collaborative environment just outside Clarksburg, MD. Two full-time positions are available for passionate educators ready to make a meaningful impact on students' lives. You’ll serve at Oakdale Middle School and a second, soon-to-be-determined elementary site within a reputable local school district.

You’ll enjoy a contract assignment running from August 17th through June 4th, with first-hand involvement in dedicated special education programs. At Oakdale Middle School, you’ll work with 15 students as part of the Learning for Life program, maintaining 7:30 am to 3:30 pm hours. The second role involves a self-contained classroom at the elementary level (site TBD), supporting 10 students from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification for the appropriate age group (elementary or middle school)
• Experience with varied instructional and behavioral strategies for special needs students
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to individualized education and an inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and assess Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create engaging, differentiated lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom safe for all students
• Collaborate with families, specialists, and other staff to maximize student success
• Track and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through targeted interventions
