Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Prior experience in a school setting supporting students with IEPs
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Differentiate instruction to address the unique needs of each learner
  • Work closely with related service providers, general education teachers, and families
  • Track and report student progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings
  • Foster a supportive classroom that encourages student confidence and independence
