Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Prior experience in a school setting supporting students with IEPs
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Differentiate instruction to address the unique needs of each learner
- Work closely with related service providers, general education teachers, and families
- Track and report student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
- Foster a supportive classroom that encourages student confidence and independence
