Special Education Teacher - New York, NY

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Preferred prior work with pre-kindergarten (PK) age children
• Valid and current New York State Certification in Special Education
• Strong understanding of child development and readiness programs
• Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for PK readiness program students
• Develop and adapt engaging lessons tailored to various developmental stages
• Use data-driven strategies to assess student progress and modify instruction accordingly
• Collaborate closely with general education staff, families, and therapists to support holistic student growth
• Manage classroom environments to ensure safety and promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere
• Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal SPED guidelines
