An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher to make a meaningful impact in a supportive middle school environment. This full-time contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, offering the chance to work closely with students who benefit from your expertise and dedication.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching (CT SPED) license required
  • Proven experience or passion for working with middle school-aged students
  • Strong knowledge of special education principles, IEP implementation, and differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with fellow staff, students, and families
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and monitor student progress
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to address various learning styles and abilities
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, assessments, and progress reports
  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student growth and success
