Job Description

Make a difference every day in a contract role supporting students with significant needs in a specialized educational setting. This opportunity is based at a dedicated learning center serving elementary through high school students with the highest levels of behavioral challenges and complex disabilities. You’ll join a collaborative team passionate about transforming lives and providing top-notch education in a supportive, structured environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral and/or developmental challenges preferable
  • Strong skills in behavior management, de-escalation, and individualized instruction
  • Ability to develop and implement customized IEPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Compassionate, resilient approach and readiness to adapt instructional strategies as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students in a Setting 4 environment
  • Collaborate closely with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure students receive comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning goals
  • Foster a safe, respectful classroom culture that encourages positive social and academic growth
  • Monitor and document student progress, updating programming as needed
  • Take part in ongoing professional development and contribute to a dedicated teaching team
