Special Education Teacher - Ridgeland, South Carolina

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for South Carolina certification)
• Prior experience supporting K-12 students with diverse learning needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instruction and provide individualized support
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students according to their needs
• Provide intensive or resource-level academic and behavioral support, tailored to the specific school assignment:
  • Intensive Support at an elementary school
  • Supplemental/Resource at a high school
  • Supplemental/Resource at a middle school
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Inspire and advocate for your students every day
