Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity serving students across elementary, middle, high school, and PreK levels as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. With multiple openings available, you'll impact diverse learning environments at several school sites in the Lancaster area, supporting learners with varying needs from moderate settings to co-taught resource rooms and self-contained multi-categorical classrooms.
This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of May 2027, with weekly schedules ranging from 35 to 37.5 hours and clear, consistent student-facing hours per school site. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, leveraging your expertise to create engaging and effective educational experiences for your students.
What You'll Bring:
- Current and active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License
- Multi-categorical certification or the required endorsements
- EC Certification for PreK positions
- Experience supporting students in special settings, resource rooms, or self-contained classrooms
- Passion for fostering academic and personal growth among students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to work onsite across multiple campuses as assigned
Your Key Contributions:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
- Coordinate with general educators for co-taught resource environments
- Deliver direct, evidence-based instruction in small group and whole class formats
- Monitor student progress, maintaining robust communication with families and staff
