Special Education Teacher | Wallace, South Carolina

In this contract opportunity, experienced Special Education Teachers can make a meaningful impact supporting young learners in a supportive educational environment. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction for early childhood and elementary students. Assignments are available for both a 3-4-year-old Early Childhood PCD classroom and a self-contained K-3 class serving students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active South Carolina Teaching License (required).
• Early Childhood and Special Education degree or certification for the EC PCD assignment.
• Multi-Categorical Special Education endorsement required for the K-3 position.
• Prior experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate with school staff and families effectively.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Provide targeted instruction for students with disabilities in inclusive and self-contained settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Track student progress, prepare documentation, and participate in team meetings.
• Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student goals and achievements.

Assignment Details:

• Located near Wallace, SC; onsite at a primary school.
• 37.5 hours per week; immediate start through May 27, 2027.
• Both Early Childhood and K-3 Special Education classroom options available.
