Job Description
In this contract opportunity, experienced Special Education Teachers can make a meaningful impact supporting young learners in a supportive educational environment. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction for early childhood and elementary students. Assignments are available for both a 3-4-year-old Early Childhood PCD classroom and a self-contained K-3 class serving students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active South Carolina Teaching License (required).
- Early Childhood and Special Education degree or certification for the EC PCD assignment.
- Multi-Categorical Special Education endorsement required for the K-3 position.
- Prior experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate with school staff and families effectively.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs.
- Provide targeted instruction for students with disabilities in inclusive and self-contained settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff.
- Track student progress, prepare documentation, and participate in team meetings.
- Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student goals and achievements.
Assignment Details:
- Located near Wallace, SC; onsite at a primary school.
- 37.5 hours per week; immediate start through May 27, 2027.
- Both Early Childhood and K-3 Special Education classroom options available.
