Assignment Details:

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Contract dates: August 25, 2026 – June 15, 2027
  • Most positions are 1:1 with elementary students; some flexibility in assignments across various campuses
  • Interpreters provide coverage as needed if assigned student is absent
  • Visaphonics preferred, but not required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III
  • Strong preference for an EIPA Score of 3.5+ (district will interview those with 3.0+), or a QAS Score of 3 or higher
  • Experience with elementary-age children is beneficial
  • Flexibility to serve in multiple school environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students in educational settings
  • Foster communication access between students, staff, and peers
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support student success
