Special Education Teacher - Chesapeake, Virginia

Experienced Special Education Teachers are needed to provide intensive academic and behavioral support. This role spans from August 24, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and involves a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours weekly at the elementary level.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Valid Adapted Curriculum K-12 license
• General Curriculum K-12 license (required only for those with self-contained classroom experience and behavioral expertise)
• Ineligible applicants include those with provisional licenses, so active VDOE credentials are a must
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-age students requiring significant behavioral and academic interventions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, supportive, and fast-paced educational setting

Key responsibilities in this role:

• Deliver tailored instruction, supporting academic development and positive behavioral outcomes for assigned caseloads
