This is a full-time, school-based assignment spanning from now through May 28, 2027. The position focuses on supporting one student at Chaffee Elementary School during typical school hours (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM), amounting to 40 hours per week. Consistency and commitment to the student’s schedule are essential—modified or flexible daily schedules cannot be accommodated.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Alabama SLI/Interpreter license or permit (required)
• Interpreting credentials strongly preferred (such as RID, EIPA, or BEI)
• Previous experience as a school-based interpreter welcomed
• Background in 1:1 student support preferred
• Reliable attendance history and strong work ethic
• Ability to engage collaboratively with educational teams and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for one student throughout the school day
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, staff, and peers
