Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Gettysburg, PA

Exciting opportunity available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to make a meaningful impact in a supportive high school environment. This contract position offers you the chance to work one-on-one with a high school student for the full 2026/2027 academic year. The assignment is onsite at a well-regarded school near Gettysburg, PA, with services focused on supporting the student in their regular academic programming.

You’ll enjoy a flexible, part-time schedule, working two days each week. While the student prefers Monday and Friday, the school team is open to other scheduling arrangements to fit mutual needs. Your expertise will ensure consistent access and inclusion for the student throughout their school day.

Qualifications:

• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher required
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and adapt to academic environments
• PA onboarding must be completed within one year from the start date
• Strong commitment to supporting students’ access to curriculum and classroom activities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpretation for all academic classes and school functions for one high school student
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Collaborate with teaching team to ensure equitable access to classroom materials and discussions
• Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times
