Passionate about making a meaningful impact in education? A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support both Specialized Resource Programs and non-traditional classroom settings in the Trumbull area, just outside of Bridgeport, CT. Whether the role will be virtual or in-person is yet to be determined, offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education (SPED) license required
  • Experience working within Specialized Resource Programs or non-traditional school environments is preferred
  • Strong ability to modify curriculum and instruction to support diverse learning needs
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Collaborative spirit to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Efficiently manage caseloads and stay adaptable as hours and assignment details may be set at a later date

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to student-specific IEPs
  • Assess student progress, maintain records, and gather data for IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive, supportive classroom experiences
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interdisciplinary approaches to learning and behavioral support
  • Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student progress and needs
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to ensure all learners have access to the curriculum
