You will collaborate closely with other educators, developing individualized education plans and delivering targeted interventions. As a learning specialist, you will lead reading and math intervention sessions, as well as provide co-taught support within grade-level ELA and Math classes. Your commitment will ensure students receive the tailored instruction and encouragement they need to thrive in their educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for grades 9-12)
- Strong background in case management for students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Experience delivering both reading and math interventions
- Comfort and skill in co-teaching within general education classrooms
- Effective communicator—able to partner with students, families, and fellow educators
- Driven by a passion for student-centered support and measurable learning outcomes
Primary Responsibilities:
- Case manage a caseload of approximately 10-15 students in grades 9-12
- Create, implement, and monitor IEPs to address individual needs
- Teach targeted intervention groups in reading and math
- Collaborate with general education teachers, providing co-taught support in ELA and Math classes
- Track student progress and adjust instruction or supports as needed
