You’ll play a crucial role developing individualized education programs and providing specialized instruction to help each student succeed.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) teaching license required
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to effectively collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and parents
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for supporting students at the middle school level
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Communicate regularly with families and participate in team meetings
- Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
