Special Education Teacher | Wallace, South Carolina

This contract role is onsite and focused on early childhood and elementary students, ensuring every child’s strengths are nurtured in an inclusive environment. Assignments include both an Early Childhood PCD classroom (ages 3–4) and a Mild/Moderate Intellectual Disabilities self-contained K-3 class.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active South Carolina Teaching License—required
• Dual certification in Special Education and Early Childhood for the EC PCD classroom
• Special Education Multi-Categorical endorsement for the K-3 ID Self-contained role
• Experience or sincere interest in working with preschool and elementary-aged students in special education settings
• Strong communication, adaptability, and team collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to learners’ specific needs and goals
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom climate, encouraging development and growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, aides, and families for optimal student support
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all state and district guidelines for special education compliance
• Employ evidence-based teaching methods suitable for students with varying abilities
