Key Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or eligibility to obtain
• Experience or training in providing instructional support to DHH students in school settings
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities is highly desirable
• Strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
• Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and strategies to meet individualized student needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to DHH students, ensuring access to curriculum and facilitating academic progress
• Create and modify lesson plans adapted to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor and document progress toward educational goals
• Provide guidance to classroom teachers regarding best practices for integrating DHH students
• Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists as needed
• Engage families by communicating student achievements and strategies for success
