Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting elementary students for the full academic year through June 25, 2027. Located near Albany, NY, this contract role offers the chance to create a positive impact within a welcoming school environment. With a schedule of 32 hours per week, you will work closely with teachers, staff, and families to bridge communication gaps and empower student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and exceptional interpreting skills
  • Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
  • Recommended minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or above
  • Ability to adapt to classroom environments and provide age-appropriate support
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities
  • Reliability and professionalism in supporting diverse learners

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation for an elementary student throughout the school day
  • Assist in classroom instruction, facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting methods to meet students’ individual needs
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff to develop effective strategies
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with school and district guidelines
