This full-time assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 27, 2027, following the school calendar (Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week). You'll provide interpretation for high school-aged students, with caseload and number of assigned schools to be determined.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EIPA score of 4.0 (performance and written), listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
  • National certifications (RID and NIC) accepted, but EIPA written required
  • Prior VOCO (virtual interpreting) experience is mandatory
  • Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation services for high school students
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and faculty
  • Adapt to various educational and leadership styles in the district
  • Maintain accurate records as required by school protocols
  • Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate professional conduct at all times
