Special Education Teacher - Lakewood, OH

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting preschool-aged students with special needs in a vibrant educational setting. As a long-term substitute, you’ll work closely with preschoolers, implementing individualized lessons and developmental strategies to set a solid educational foundation for every child. This full-time role begins August 25, 2026 and extends for approximately 12 weeks, allowing you to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Prior experience serving preschool or early childhood populations strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of implementing and managing IEPs
• Ability to create an engaging, nurturing, and safe classroom
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and reliability in a long-term substitute role

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver early childhood special education services tailored to meet diverse developmental needs
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to foster growth and independence
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom atmosphere for all learners
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student support
• Maintain timely and accurate records in accordance with school policies
