This opportunity is ideal for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to provide individualized and inclusive instruction to students with diverse learning needs in one building. Two positions are available beginning August 24, 2026, and concluding June 7, 2027, working 37.5 hours per week.
You’ll engage with either:
- A self-contained classroom for 9-12 students with multiple disabilities (MD), including those with autism, non-verbal communication needs, and various physical impairments.
- Or, a classroom of 10-15 students with emotional disabilities (ED), focusing on behavior intervention plans (BIPs), social-emotional learning, and crisis management techniques.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid teaching license in Special Education as required by the state.
- Experience in MD, autism support, and/or physical impairment settings, or in ED classrooms utilizing BIPs and social-emotional instruction.
- Strong commitment to individualized, student-centered instruction and ongoing collaboration with related service providers and families.
- Skill in creating a safe, caring, and adaptive classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behavior.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention methods and comfort providing multi-modal support.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and progress-monitoring abilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering daily instruction tailored to each student’s IEP.
- Adapting curriculum and space for a variety of learning, behavioral, and physical needs.
- Collaborating consistently with paraprofessionals, therapists, and school support staff.
- Communicating with families and team members to foster student growth.
- Implementing crisis and behavior interventions as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records and participating in all IEP-related meetings.
