Job Description
Inspire students and make an impact as an Intervention Specialist supporting a close-knit middle school autism unit. This full-time contract opportunity is based near Ashtabula, OH and offers the chance to work directly with a small caseload—just five students—allowing for truly individualized attention and progress.
As an essential part of the special education team, you will help students develop their academic, social, and life skills. Through your expertise, you’ll create a meaningful and inclusive learning environment from approximately August 24 to June 4, 2027, with on-site engagement and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist in Ohio
- Experience working with autism spectrum students at the middle school level preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to creating positive, supportive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students in an autism-focused unit
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs, ensuring measurable progress
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through differentiated teaching strategies
- Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication about student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
