Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language and experienced in educational interpreting
• EIPA score of 4.0 and corresponding written assessment required
• Listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health); alternatively, RID or NIC certification plus the written assessment accepted
• Previous experience working with high school-aged students is highly valued
• Completion of district-required fingerprinting and drug screening, alongside general credentialing prerequisites
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Position Details:

• Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned with the school district calendar
• Caseload will primarily focus on high school students; number of schools and student assignments to be determined
• Serve as a vital resource ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with educators and school staff to adapt communication solutions for diverse student needs
• Adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and ethical practice
• Maintain accurate interpreting logs and documentation as required
