Qualifications & Requirements:

• Current, valid GA DOE Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License—must be in hand and ready for presentation
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in educational settings
• Adaptability to work both 1:1 and in flexible, floating assignments
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills
• Previous experience in a school or with children preferred

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) to support effective communication for a 1:1 student assignment
• Provide services onsite at designated locations, including both scheduled and floating roles
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to ensure students’ needs are met across academic and extracurricular activities
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development as needed
