Sign Language Interpreter in Buford, GA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide vital communication support in an educational setting. This is a contract position that will have you working closely with students and staff, making a meaningful impact every day. You’ll split your time between direct 1:1 assignments and supporting multiple campuses as needed, allowing you to develop strong relationships and offer flexible assistance where it’s most required.

Qualifications:

• Current, valid GA DOE SLI License is a must—please have documentation on hand for consideration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings is preferred.
• Comfortable working 1:1 with students, adapting to both fixed and floating schedules.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professionalism and reliability for a school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person interpretation services on a full-time schedule.
• Support students at Alliance Academy and float to other school locations as needed.
• Facilitate communication between D/HH students, staff, and peers to ensure educational access.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district procedures.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and contribute to inclusive learning environments.

This assignment begins as soon as possible, running through the end of May 2027. The position promises variety, direct student impact, and the satisfaction of helping all students access their education fully.
