Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a passionate Special Education teacher eager to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. This full-time contract position begins August 31, 2024 and runs through June 25, 2025, serving a middle school resource room in a supportive and collaborative setting. The role is onsite, supporting students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Current Michigan teaching license with Special Education endorsement (please include certification with your application)
• Prior experience working as a Special Education teacher, ideally in self-contained or resource room settings
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction to meet student needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to a resource room setting for middle school students
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to address the unique abilities and goals of each learner
• Monitor student progress, update IEPs, and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state policies
• Collaborate closely with fellow educators, parents, and support staff to provide comprehensive student support
• Foster social, behavioral, and academic growth by creating a positive classroom culture
