Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and their implementation
- Excellent communication skills to partner with parents, support staff, and school leadership
- Adaptable and responsive to individual student needs and changing classroom dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student abilities and goals
- Provide direct instruction and support based on student learning profiles and accommodations
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment encouraging academic and social-emotional growth
- Document student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum as needed
- Communicate effectively with families to foster strong home-to-school connections
