Required Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
• Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
• Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and their implementation
• Excellent communication skills to partner with parents, support staff, and school leadership
• Adaptable and responsive to individual student needs and changing classroom dynamics

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student abilities and goals
• Provide direct instruction and support based on student learning profiles and accommodations
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment encouraging academic and social-emotional growth
• Document student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum as needed
• Communicate effectively with families to foster strong home-to-school connections
