Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to work with students with mild to moderate needs, delivering tailored support that empowers learners to achieve their fullest potential. You’ll play an essential role developing and implementing individualized education plans and working closely with students, staff, and families throughout the academic year.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Current Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement
• Prior experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities is highly valued
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals and parents/guardians
• Deliver engaging instruction that adapts to each student’s learning style and goals
• Utilize data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Document interventions, accommodations, and progress in a timely and thorough manner
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student success across settings
• Support a positive classroom atmosphere that emphasizes respect, understanding, and high expectations
