Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by joining a welcoming educational environment as a Special Education Teacher. In this contract role, you’ll work closely with a small, manageable caseload of upper elementary-aged students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Located at the Packard site, you’ll provide individualized support that nurtures both academic growth and social-emotional development during school hours, Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) certification required
- Previous experience with upper elementary students is a plus
- Demonstrated strength in communication and collaboration
- Passion for supporting diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction aligned to each student's individualized education plan (IEP)
- Implement evidence-based strategies and targeted interventions appropriate for students with ASD
- Track and report student progress, maintaining all necessary documentation
- Partner with general education staff, specialists, and families to foster a holistic learning environment
- Address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs with care and professionalism
