Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

Make an immediate impact supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained resource room setting. You’ll work onsite with a manageable middle school caseload, providing specialized instruction and academic support to help each student reach their full potential. What We’re Looking For:

• Active Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (required—please submit certification)
• Previous experience teaching in special education settings, ideally at the middle school level
• Strong instructional, behavioral management, and communication skills
• Flexible approach to teaching diverse learners with a variety of needs
• Reliable, organized, and able to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress reports
• Capable of working collaboratively with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and administration

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained middle school resource room, delivering instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
• Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum, and utilize a variety of instructional strategies
• Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and coordinating assessments
• Implement behavioral interventions to support positive student outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain regular communication with families
