Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-specific or eligible for reciprocal certification)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
  • Previous experience in a school-based special education role preferred
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and service providers
  • Demonstrated organizational and classroom management abilities
  • Commitment to evidence-based instructional practices and individualized education plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs and IEP goals
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess student progress, documenting and reporting on developmental and academic outcomes
  • Work closely with general education teachers and support staff for effective integration and support
  • Communicate with families regarding student growth and goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on student-centered approaches
