Take on a pivotal role shaping early childhood special education by supporting dedicated educators and young learners. This opportunity is available full-time on a contract basis through May 27, 2027. As an Early Childhood Special Education Supervisor, you’ll guide and mentor staff, facilitate critical meetings, and ensure compliance with state policies and best practices in early intervention. Your leadership will directly impact program quality and the educational journey of young students.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL), including appropriate administrative endorsements
  • At least two to three years of proven experience in an early childhood classroom, special education program, or related setting
  • In-depth knowledge of Illinois Early Learning Standards and ISBE guidelines for early childhood programs
  • Background in supervision, staff development, and team leadership within an educational environment
  • Strong skills facilitating meetings, collaborating with specialists, and supporting families through transitions such as Early Intervention
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities for managing multiple programs and relationships

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support special education programs for early learners, ensuring alignment with Illinois state guidelines
  • Coordinate early intervention referrals, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Mentor and train teachers and staff on curriculum, accommodations, and individualized plans
  • Foster effective communication with families, building partnerships to support each child’s success
  • Monitor, evaluate, and implement program improvements to enhance outcomes for children with diverse learning needs
