Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Holds a valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication skills for engaging with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to individualized student needs
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned to students’ IEP goals and grade-level curriculum
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed for optimal growth
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to support student inclusion
- Maintain detailed records of student achievements and prepare progress reports
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to foster a supportive home-school connection
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that celebrates student diversity and fosters self-advocacy
