Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Holds a valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students in special education settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Effective communication skills for engaging with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to individualized student needs
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned to students’ IEP goals and grade-level curriculum
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed for optimal growth
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to support student inclusion
• Maintain detailed records of student achievements and prepare progress reports
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to foster a supportive home-school connection
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that celebrates student diversity and fosters self-advocacy
