This full-time, contract position centers on supporting students with diverse learning needs through both inclusion and resource classroom models. You’ll work closely with a Case Manager who offers ongoing support and ensures compliance, so you can focus on impactful teaching and meaningful relationships.
Your school day involves teaching three inclusion classes and two resource classes, with 2 prep periods built into your schedule for planning and collaboration. Expect a manageable caseload of 10-15 students, allowing you to offer individualized attention. The ideal candidate will bring compassion, adaptability, and a dedication to helping every student thrive.
Skills and Experience Desired:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois)
- Experience working with inclusion and resource classroom settings preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Collaborative spirit to work alongside the Case Manager and fellow educators
- Commitment to fostering a positive, equitable learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct three inclusion classes and two resource classes, differentiating lessons to meet a variety of student needs
- Maintain accurate records and data on student progress
- Provide guidance and support to students on your caseload, working toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education staff, the Case Manager, and families to ensure student success
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as needed
