An exciting contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist eager to work within a high school environment near Arlington Heights, IL. This position begins August 11, 2026, and concludes May 26, 2027, offering a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Your primary focus will be on delivering skilled occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 18 students in grades 9 through 12 who have complex needs. This essential role will have a significant impact by fostering students’ growth and functional independence during a critical period in their academic journey.

Key Attributes and Experience:

  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure in Illinois (or eligibility)
  • Prior experience with high school populations, preferably within a school-based or special education setting
  • Strong understanding of complex needs, including physical, cognitive, and social-emotional challenges
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to participate in IEP meetings and provide support to families and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy and consultative services to high school students, grades 9-12
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom
  • Assess student needs, monitor progress, and update goals as necessary
  • Participate in evaluation, eligibility, and IEP processes
  • Offer in-service training or guidance to staff on strategies and equipment use as needed
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation as required by the school and regulatory agencies
