Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role at a unique school setting serving the needs of students in a Setting 4 environment. This position is critical to supporting elementary through high school learners with the most significant behavioral and complex disabilities. Your expertise will provide essential educational and emotional support for students who need it most, fostering a positive and adaptive learning environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License—only Tier 3 or Tier 4 accepted
  • Experience or strong interest in Setting 4 environments preferred
  • Ability to manage and support students exhibiting high-level behavioral challenges and severe disabilities
  • Previous work with diverse age groups, spanning elementary to high school, a plus
  • Strong skills in collaboration, communication, de-escalation, and individualized instruction
  • Must be available for full-time work (Monday–Friday) throughout the 2026–2027 school year, from August 25, 2026 through June 10, 2027

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, support, and behavioral management for students in a Setting 4 environment
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to fit individualized student needs
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom dynamic
  • Document progress, engage in regular communication with families and support staff, and participate in professional development
