Requirements and Desired Experience:

• Current listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health) is required
• EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and proof of passing the written EIPA, both must be documented
• Credentials such as RID or NIC are accepted, but you must also have the EIPA written
• Experience supporting high school-aged students preferred
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and team collaboration within a school setting
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting and drug screening as required by the district and agency

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families in classroom and school settings
• Accurately convey spoken and signed communications in real time to ensure full access for all participants
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance the educational process for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with district and agency procedures
• Flexibly serve across assigned campuses (number of schools will be determined)
