Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Gretna, Louisiana

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a new setting as a contract professional working with high school-aged students. This full-time assignment runs through the school year and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in educational access while working virtually.

Your core responsibilities will include interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, supporting high school students as they engage with their curriculum. You’ll provide consistent, clear communication in educational settings, collaborate with teachers and support staff, and adapt to varying assignments based on student needs. The number of campuses and precise caseload will be determined as you onboard.

Key qualifications and expectations:

• Hold a minimum EIPA score of 4.0, both performance and written, as required for the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry – Dept. of Health)
• Eligible credentials include EIPA, plus RID or NIC; written EIPA is still required
• Previous experience delivering interpretation services in virtual/remote (VOCO) settings is essential
• Experience working with high school-aged students, with a flexible approach to varying caseloads
• Prepared to complete any time-sensitive credentialing and compliance requirements
