Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification required
- CSI (Cognitive Impairment) certification needed
- Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction according to student abilities
Responsibilities:
- Lead classroom instruction for students with cognitive impairments in a center-based program
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for all assigned students
- Track and evaluate student progress, modifying instruction as necessary
- Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and administrators to ensure comprehensive educational support
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and encouraged
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional strategies and stay current with best practices
- Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed about student growth and classroom activities
