Discover an opportunity to make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment. This contract position offers the chance to work with students across all age groups, providing essential instructional support and covering leave assignments from September 15, 2026, through December 18, 2026. Multiple positions are available, and each assignment lasts approximately two months, with potential opportunities for extension or transition into other roles.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
  • All necessary certifications for special education teaching
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to maintain engaging, supportive learning environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to support a range of age groups and adapt to changing classroom needs
  • Commitment to nurturing students’ growth and addressing individual learning styles

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with varying educational needs, fostering their academic and personal development
  • Collaborate with general education and support staff to modify curricula and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress, making data-informed recommendations
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with families and caregivers
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other school activities supporting the special education program
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal education regulations
